Members of Iranian drug trafficking network detained in Baku

Employees of the Nasimi district police department held operational activities to combat illicit drug trafficking.
As a result of search operations, they detained Javid Niyazov, Aydin Melikov, his acquaintance Elman Yolchuyev, and Shahig Kazimov who were selling drugs, the press service of the Interior Ministry told Caliber.Az.
About 10 kilograms of heroin, marijuana, and methamphetamine were found in their possession.
The investigation revealed that the detainees had made contact through social networks with an Iranian citizen named Babek, who was identified by investigators, with the intention of selling drugs, which he had smuggled into the country by various illegal means.
A criminal case was opened and an investigation is underway.
