Chief justices of Azerbaijan, Türkiye discuss enhancing judicial cooperation
Chairman of the Supreme Court of Azerbaijan, Inam Karimov, and Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Court of Türkiye (Yargıtay), Adem Albayrak, have discussed expanding cooperation between the two countries’ judicial systems during a meeting in Baku.
The meeting, held at the Supreme Court of Azerbaijan, saw Karimov emphasising the importance of exchanging legal experience to advance judicial reforms and improve the overall efficiency of justice, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
Albayrak, for his part, expressed gratitude for the warm reception and noted the strategic nature of Azerbaijani-Turkish cooperation—not only in politics and culture, but also in the legal field.
He underscored the need to deepen professional ties between legal institutions of both nations.
Following the meeting, a roundtable was held on the application of Turkish legislation concerning compensation for moral damages. Participants reviewed legal precedents, criteria for assessing non-material harm, reasoning behind court rulings, and principles of social justice.
Both sides agreed to continue the dialogue and pursue new joint initiatives aimed at enhancing bilateral legal collaboration.
