US imposes sanctions on Iranian firm and its UAE subsidiary
The US Treasury Department has imposed sanctions on the Iranian company Arvan Cloud and its subsidiary ArvanCloud Global Technologies, which is based in Dubai.
They were sanctioned for their "role in assisting" the authorities in Tehran in providing censorship to the Iranian segment of the Internet, TASS reports citing Treasury's press service.
In addition, according to the information, it blacklisted the names of the two founders of Arvan Cloud. Both currently hold senior positions in the company. According to the US government, Arvan Cloud has "close relations" with Iran's intelligence services.
In practice, the application of the restrictive measures primarily means blocking the properties of blacklisted individuals and entities in US jurisdiction and prohibiting US persons and entities from interacting with them.
