European Commission to inspect Twitter after its withdrawal from ECC

The deputy head of the European Commission (EC), Valdis Dombrovskis, has said that the EC will check the work of the social network Twitter after its withdrawal from the European Code of Conduct in the digital space.
Thierry Breton, European Commissioner for Internal Market Affairs, stated at the end of May that the social network Twitter would leave the voluntary code of practice against disinformation in the European Union (EU) but would not escape the obligations of the digital services law, TASS reports.
He noted that in addition to the voluntary commitments, combating misinformation will become a legal obligation under the Digital Services Act from August 25.
