President Zelenskyy: Ukraine, US preparing to create new defence ecosystem

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said that co-production in the defence industry with the US is a historic thing, and Ukraine will be working to produce the necessary weapons together with the US.

The relevant statement was made by President Zelenskyy in his video address, a Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“It was a very important visit to Washington, with very significant results.

I met with US President Joe Biden and his team. There is a new defence package: air defence, artillery, shells, engineering equipment.

There is also a long-term agreement – we will work together for Ukraine to produce the necessary weapons together with the US.

This is a new level of our unity! Co-production in the defence industry with the US is a historic thing. A new industrial base, new jobs for both our nations. In particular, Ukraine will be able to produce air defence systems. We are preparing to create a new defence ecosystem together with the US to produce weapons to further reinforce freedom and the protection of life together.

This will yield global positive results. Thank you, Mr. President Biden!” the president noted.
