Uzbekistan, US discuss military cooperation

Uzbek Defence Minister Bakhodir Kurbanov has received Chief of Staff of the US Central Command Gen Michael Kurilla.

Cooperation between the two countries in the military sphere and prospects for the future were discussed at the negotiations, the Uzbek defence ministry said, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Uzbek media.

Kurbanov emphasised that the development of bilateral relations based on equality, mutual trust and respect has recently reached a new level.

Kurilla visited Uzbekistan in summer 2022, shortly after being appointed to his post. Besides the leadership of the Defence Ministry, he then met with President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Secretary of the Security Council Viktor Makhmudov.
