Azerbaijan hosts opening ceremony of first TURKSOY Int’l Theatre Festival

The opening ceremony of the first TURKSOY International Theatre Festival has been held at the Azerbaijan State Academic National Drama Theatre.
The festival is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Azerbaijani national leader Heydar Aliyev, the announcement of Shusha as the Cultural Capital of the Turkic World for 2023, the 150th anniversary of the creation of the National Theatre of Azerbaijan and the 30th anniversary of TURKSOY, Report informs.
Azerbaijani Culture Minister Adil Karimli expressed confidence that this festival will be constantly held in the Turkic world in the coming years.
TURKSOY Secretary General Sultan Raev spoke about the significance of the festival. He noted that this festival united six different Turkic countries and the representatives of art from these countries.
The first TURKSOY International Theatre Festival will run till November 4.
