Baku, Morocco explore revival of cultural exchange days PHOTO
On May 8, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Culture, Adil Kerimli, hosted Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid, Morocco’s Minister of Youth, Culture, and Communications, during his visit to Baku.
The meeting took place at the International Mugham Centre and was also attended by Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to Morocco, Nazim Samadov, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
During their discussion, Minister Kerimli emphasised that the relationship between Azerbaijan and Morocco is thriving across all sectors, particularly in the cultural realm. Reflecting on past connections, he recalled his visit to Morocco in 2023, which helped strengthen ties through a series of productive meetings.
The two ministers revisited the successful cultural exchanges that took place in the past, with Azerbaijan's Cultural Days held in Morocco in 2008 and 2010, and Morocco’s Cultural Days in Baku in 2009 and 2011. They expressed a shared commitment to reviving this tradition, underscoring the importance of these events in deepening mutual understanding and cooperation.
The conversation also included a discussion of practical steps for organising these cultural days again, with a focus on building even stronger cultural bonds between the two nations.
