Poland to send military servicemen to Finland To guard the border with Russia

Head of the Polish National Security Bureau Jacek Siewiera has said that his country plans to send a group of military personnel to Finland to help protect the country's border with Russia.

According to him, representatives of the Polish army will leave for Finland "in the very near future", Kommersant reports.

According to Siewiera, the agreement to send Polish military servicemen to Finland was reached during a meeting between Finnish President Sauli Niinistö and his Polish counterpart Andrzej Duda. "A hybrid attack has hit the Finnish border and we are ready to help our allies," Siewiera underlined.

He added that the Finnish authorities will send an official request to Warsaw as soon as possible, which will specify what kind of assistance they need. After that, the exact number of Polish army representatives who will help Finland protect the country's border with Russia will become clear.
