At least 11 people killed in armed attack in Pakistan

At least 11 people were killed and 25 others were injured in an armed attack on a passenger bus in the Gilgit-Baltistan region in northern Pakistan.

According to the deputy head of Diamer district, Arif Ahmad, the incident took place on December 2 near the town of Chilas, TASS reports via the newspaper Dawn.

Unknown assailants fired at a passenger bus and a truck travelling on the opposite course, and the two vehicles collided. Pakistani Army personnel escorting the bus also came under fire. Nine civilians were among the dead.

None of the terrorist groups operating in the country has claimed responsibility for the incident.
