US wants to help Ukraine become main energy supplier to EU

US Assistant Secretary of State for Energy Resources Geoffrey Pyatt has said that Washington will help Ukraine become the main supplier of electricity to the EU.

For this purpose, assistance in integrating the energy structure with the European one will be rendered to Ukraine, according to TASS.

“I see no reason why Ukraine could not become a country with extensive investment opportunities and the future main exporter of energy to the rest EU participants,” he emphasised.

The US official noted that Ukraine has nuclear energy facilities, as well as potential for the development of solar and wind energy. These resources will help Ukraine develop a green energy system according to European standards, even in parallel with the hostilities.
