Trump backers turn assassination attempt into fundraising bonanza

Hours after former President Donald Trump survived an assassination attempt at a Pennsylvania rally, his supporters are capitalizing on the event to rally support for his re-election bid - and make money in the process.

T-shirts featuring a defiant image of a bloodied Trump with his fist in the air are rapidly appearing online and in stores, Caliber.Az reports per foreign media. 

The shooting, which occurred on Saturday, left one spectator dead and two severely injured. Trump was slightly injured, bleeding from his right ear as he was whisked off stage. The gunman, a 20-year-old man, was immediately shot dead by the US Secret Service.

Prominent Trump supporters are leveraging the incident to boost his campaign. The HodgeTwins, popular content creators, advertised T-shirts on social media with the message "Fight! Fight! Fight!" and promised that "100% of profits from this shirt go to Trump’s campaign." Another shirt reads "Shooting Makes Me Stronger," while others display messages like "I Will Never Stop."

Merchandise sales are not limited to the US. In China, T-shirts depicting the event are already available in stores in Yiwu and across various online vendors.

The commercialization of the attempted assassination reflects the fervor of Trump's base and their determination to turn adversity into an opportunity for political and financial gain.
