70 visa-free destinations available for Azerbaijani passport holders

Azerbaijan has been ranked 76th in the renewed Henley & Partners Visa Restrictions Index passport ranking for 2023.

This year, one more country became available to Azerbaijani citizens for visa-free travel. Now they can visit 70 states with no visa, Report informs, citing the data released by the organisation for the first quarter of 2023.

In 2022, Azerbaijan was 78th in the ranking.

At the same time, for the fifth year in a row the ranking of the world's strongest passport holders by the number of visa-free destinations (or with visa on arrival) is headed by Japan - 193 of 227 countries are open to holders of its passports. Singapore and South Korea came second with 192 visa-free destinations.

The Henley & Partners Visa Restrictions Index analyses the visa rules of more than 200 countries and territories around the world and ranks them by the number of visa-free countries. Updated annually, the Henley Passport Index is considered a standard reference tool for global citizens and sovereign states when assessing a passport's place in the global mobility spectrum.
