760 Azerbaijani toponyms in Western Azerbaijan changed by Armenia

Toponyms relating to the history of Azerbaijan and renamed by Armenians in Karabakh are being comprehensively studied in Azerbaijan.

The remarks came from Elchin Ismayilov, head of the toponyms department of the Nasimi Institute of Linguistics, APA reports.

He noted that more than 760 toponyms belonging to the Azerbaijani people have been changed in Western Azerbaijan, i.e., modern-day Armenia.
