8-year-old boy shoots one-year-old to death

An 8-year-old boy killed a one-year-old boy with his father's gun at a motel in Florida, USA, while another two-year-old was seriously injured.

Escambia County Sheriff Chip Simmons said a man left a holstered gun in a motel locker, while the boy found the gun after his father left the room, TRT Haber reports.

While the boy was playing with the gun he took out of its holster, a bullet hit the 1-year-old girl in the room.

The other girl in the room was injured.

Simmons said that your father was staying at the motel with his girlfriend and the woman was asleep at the time. He explained that the children killed and injured were his children.

The sheriff said the father was a criminal convicted of possession of a firearm and was detained on charges of tampering with evidence, culpable negligence and failure to safely store the firearm.

There were at least 392 unintentional shootings and 163 deaths by children under 18 last year, according to the advocacy group Everytown for Gun Safety, which followed the reports.
