Ukraine: Russia changes tactics in war
WORLD 02 July 2022 - 11:41
Russia has changed tactics in the war against Ukraine.
The Russian Federation is attacking peaceful cities with missiles, trying to intimidate people and force them to put pressure on the government to make some concessions to Moscow.
The remarks came from RBC-Ukraine with reference to Mikhail Podolyak, adviser to the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, in an interview with Channel 24.
“This is Russia's new tactic - hitting residential areas and putting pressure on Western political elites to force Ukraine to sit down at the negotiating table. All this will not work,” Podolyak said.
According to him, on the one hand, the Russians do not take into account how the world reacts to these inhuman attacks by cruise missiles.
“They are forcing our people to put pressure on the government to say ‘let’s make some territorial concessions. On the other hand, the Russians are investing in their pro-Russian lobby in the political markets of other countries so that they also say: "Let's somehow end the war," Podolyak explains.
At the same time, the adviser to the head of the President's Office stressed that this tactic of the Russian Federation can be broken.
“Firstly, we really need air defence. We need not only air defence but also a missile defence system. And they will be handed over to us because this is the key to breaking Russia's new concept of war,” Podolyak concluded.
On the night of July 1, the Russian military launched several missile attacks by strategic aircraft on the Odesa region, resulting in the death of dozens of civilians in one of the high-rise buildings.
