Ukraine’s intelligence claims Russia launches missiles for nucelar strike
04 July 2022 10:49
Chief of Ukraine’s Defence Intelligence, Major-General Kyrylo Budanov has said that Russia uses old Soviet-made X-22 missiles, which are designed for nuclear strikes, to hit the territory of Ukraine.
Budanov made the statement in an interview with RBC-Ukraine on July 3.
“These are not just old Soviet-made X-22 missiles, this is a missile that was designed to deliver nuclear strikes. Therefore, it has an accuracy indicator of plus or minus a kilometre - this was generally normal. It is designed to deliver nuclear strikes, and they fire a conventional warhead,” he said, noting that the missiles do not have the accuracy they would like to have.
In addition, Budanov noted that a missile threat from Russia is still in place.
