Montenegro confirms first monkeypox case

The first monkeypox case has been confirmed in Montenegro.
“The laboratory of the Department of Molecular Diagnostics of Montenegro’s Institute of Public Health revealed and together with the Torlak Institute of Immunology and Virology confirmed the first monkeypox case in the country,” TASS reports referring to the Institute of Public Health.
According to the message, the disease was detected in a Montenegrin citizen, whose health condition is diagnosed to be as satisfactory.
Monkeypox is a rare viral disease that occurs mainly in remote areas in central and western Africa, near tropical rainforests.
