Administrative Sanction Penalty from RTÜK to Netflix

The Radio and Television Supreme Council (RTÜK) imposed an administrative sanction on Netflix on the grounds that the animated film "Jurassic World Cretaceous Camp" violated the national and moral values of the society, general morality and the principle of protecting the family.

According to the statement made by RTÜK, the scenes in which the two girl characters became close in the movie, which the Ministry of Family and Social Services also complained about with a petition, were found to be against broadcasting principles, TRT Haber reports.

Evaluating that Netflix, which includes the related production in the catalogue with the protective symbol "18 years and over", may mislead the viewers and may cause children to be exposed to productions that are not intended for their age group, RTÜK said, "Broadcasting services serve the national and moral values of the society. values, general morals and the principle of protection of the family." imposed administrative sanctions on Netflix for violating its provision.

Sanctions were also imposed on Spotify, Tele 1, Halk Tv and Habertürk.

It has been decided that playlists and podcast content within the music platform Spotify that insult, humiliate and slander national moral values, make FETO propaganda, insult the President of the Republic of Turkey, political party leaders and state elders from the platform.

RTÜK also imposed an administrative fine on Istanbul's Sesi radio at the upper limit for insulting women in the program "Deli Murat Show".

On the other hand, Tele 1 was sanctioned for making unfair profits by collecting donations and donations from the audience, for not complying with the broadcast ban imposed by the court, and for insulting the President, Minister of Interior and Ministry officials with national and moral values in two different programs on Halk TV.

In addition, taking into account the petition of the Presidency of Religious Affairs, RTÜK found the insulting words of Celal Şengör, who spoke on the program "Teke Tek Bilim", against the principles of broadcasting and imposed an administrative fine on Habertürk.
