ADNOC vessel attacked in Strait of Hormuz

A vessel belonging to Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) was attacked while transiting the Strait of Hormuz on August 14, the company said in a statement carried by the WAM news agency.

ADNOC said the incident occurred on the evening of August 14 and that no one was injured.

“No one was injured as a result of the attack, and the situation is under control,” the company said.

ADNOC stressed the importance of protecting seafarers, maintaining freedom of navigation and ensuring maritime security in the strategic waterway. It also urged the public to rely only on official sources and avoid spreading rumours or unverified information.

The incident came a day after two other ADNOC vessels were reportedly attacked while passing through the Strait of Hormuz. No casualties were reported in that incident.

On August 7, ADNOC said that 15 of its vessels had come under missile and drone attacks in the Strait of Hormuz since the start of the conflict in the region. The company said those attacks had killed one crew member and injured 20 others.
