Aerial bomb, shell defused in northern Azerbaijani district PHOTO/VIDEO
Officers of the Azerbaijani Emergency Situations Ministry have defused an aerial bomb and a Grad shell in the northern Khizi District.
The ministry hotline "112" received information about the discovery of an explosive object on the territory of Khizi District's Aghdaria village, Caliber.Az reports citing the ministry press service.
A mine clearance operational group from the Emergencies Ministry's Special Risk Rescue Service was immediately dispatched to the scene.
During the investigation, pyrotechnics discovered a 9M22C Grad rocket and a TAB-50 aerial bomb suitable for combat use.
The Emergencies Ministry's Civil Defence Forces and the Mine Clearance Agency (ANAMA) personnel were also involved at the scene.
The ammunition was seized and destroyed by the group's specialists in order to neutralise it.
During a second inspection of the scene and the surrounding area, no other dangerous or suspicious items were discovered.
