Afghan, Uzbek firms strike $267 million in trade agreements

Afghan entrepreneurs and business representatives from Uzbekistan’s Kashkadarya region have signed 20 trade agreements worth a total of $267 million.

Afghanistan’s Ministry of Industry and Commerce announced the agreements, Caliber.Az reports, citing foreign media.

The agreements were signed on August 30 in Kabul during a business meeting between private-sector representatives from the two countries.

The meeting was attended by Afghanistan’s Deputy Minister of Industry and Commerce Ahmadullah Zahid, Kashkadarya Deputy Governor Shukhrat Muradov, Uzbekistan’s ambassador to Kabul, as well as entrepreneurs and investors.

According to the Afghan ministry, the agreements cover supplies of food, textiles and construction materials, as well as cooperation in livestock farming, electronics manufacturing and furniture production.
