Africa committed to strengthening ties with Azerbaijan, says ambassador

There are significant strategic opportunities for expanding cooperation between Africa and Azerbaijan, Adil Embarch, the Ambassador of Morocco to Azerbaijan, has said.

“Africa and Azerbaijan share important principles and common aspirations, including respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity, commitment to international law, support for multilateralism, and development of cooperation. We are convinced that there is significant potential for strengthening the partnership between Africa and Azerbaijan in such areas as training, energy, transport connectivity and logistics, education, tourism, innovation, and technological cooperation,” the ambassador stated at the event dedicated to Africa Day 2026: “Rising Continent, Emerging Partnerships” in Baku.

Embarch stressed that the African diplomatic corps in Baku is fully dedicated to enhancing friendship, mutual understanding, and mutually beneficial cooperation between Africa and Azerbaijan.

“On behalf of the African diplomatic community, I express our sincere gratitude to President Ilham Aliyev and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan for their consistent engagement with Africa,” the envoy concluded.
