Air France flight from Beirut makes emergency landing in Munich
An Air France flight traveling from Beirut to Paris made an emergency landing at Munich Airport after transmitting a general emergency code over southern Germany.
According to Munich Airport spokesperson Robert Wilhelm, the aircraft issued the alert at an altitude of 40,000 feet before diverting to Munich rather than continuing to Paris, Caliber.Az reports, citing Turkish media.
“The Air France plane made a safe emergency landing on the southern runway at 8:19 pm. No intervention was required from the airport, and all passengers were able to disembark safely,” Wilhelm told local media.
Authorities have not disclosed the exact nature of the technical problem that prompted the emergency declaration. Passengers were subsequently accommodated in local hotels, and no injuries were reported.
