Airstrike hits Hashd al-Shaabi Base in Iraq US blamed

An airstrike has hit a Hashd al-Shaabi base near the northern Iraqi city of Mosul, according to two officials from the former paramilitary group, now integrated into Iraq’s regular armed forces, France 24 reports.

One official attributed the strike to the United States, saying it targeted a base in the Bartella area of Nineveh Province.

Since the start of the ongoing Middle East conflict, several strikes have hit Hashd al-Shaabi bases—a coalition of armed groups, many of which have close ties with Iran.
