Airstrike targets gravel plant in western Iraq

An airstrike struck a gravel plant in the Rutba district of Iraq’s western al-Anbar province , a security source told Shafaq News.

According to the source, unidentified warplanes carried out the strike in the early morning hours, hitting the facility. No human casualties or significant material damage were reported.

Iraqi security forces have launched an investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident and to identify those responsible.

Rutba, located near Iraq’s western borders with Syria and Jordan, has previously experienced security incidents linked to armed group activity and military operations.
