Al Arabiya: Hezbollah in Lebanon creating its own proxies

Responsibility for the recent infiltration of terrorists into the Har Dov area was taken not by Hezbollah, but by a previously unknown organization, the Al-Az Islamic Battalions. And this is no coincidence.

This is Hezbollah's policy now: under its control and with its support, new groups are emerging in southern Lebanon.

It was previously assumed that Israel was fighting in the north only against Hezbollah and Hamas. Now a third enemy has emerged, and not the last, according to Аl Аrabiya TV channel.

As it is underlined, for months now, in the south of Lebanon, which is entirely controlled by Hezbollah, there has been a process of creating new paramilitary organizations that join the fight against Israel.

This creation of a "proxy" from Hezbollah (which is a "proxy for Iran") is causing considerable concern in Lebanon.

As stated by the Arab orientalist and political scientist Dr. Makram Rabah, in Lebanese political circles there is a fear that Hezbollah, for which its responsibility to Lebanese society is, to a certain extent, a restraining factor, will be able to share this responsibility with others in this way (although nothing happens in southern Lebanon without its knowledge and approval).

And this will strengthen its motivation to escalate the conflict with Israel. General Ashraf Rifi, a member of the Lebanese parliament, holds the same view.

In addition, Dr. Makram Rabah believes that Hezbollah is creating additional "proxies" in order to diversify arms supply channels from Iran and partially remove cargo convoys from Israeli strikes.
