Al Arabiya: Iran-backed groups preparing attacks on Saudi Arabia

Saudi Arabia has received credible intelligence indicating that Iran-backed groups and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) are preparing attacks against the Kingdom, Al Arabiya English reports, citing a senior Saudi source.

The source said multiple intelligence reports point to coordination between Yemen's Houthis, Iraqi militias and Iran's IRGC in preparations.

According to the source, the reports are particularly concerning as they come while the Kingdom continues to pursue de-escalation and peaceful solutions, with negotiations reportedly progressing in a positive direction.

The source stressed that Saudi Arabia "will not hesitate to take all necessary measures" to respond to any aggression.

The warning follows reports from Iraqi sources claiming that armed factions are planning to launch drone attacks against "neighboring countries" within the next 48 hours.

Potential targets could include civilian and energy facilities, as well as critical infrastructure, airports and ports, the Saudi source added.

The source noted that intelligence also includes observations of missiles and drones being repositioned in preparation for possible simultaneous attacks.

Commenting on US-Saudi ties, the source also said coordination between Riyadh and Washington remains "very strong" at all levels, including military cooperation.
