Al-Hashd al-Shaabi reports fatality after strike near Al-Siniya Airport
Al-Hashd al-Shaabi, also known as the Popular Mobilisation Forces, has reported that one of its fighters was killed in a strike it attributed to the United States and Israel in central Iraq.
According to Al Jazeera, the group said the attack targeted a facility belonging to its 31st Brigade in Salah al-Din province. The site was located near Al-Siniya Airport. In addition to the fatality, several other individuals were reported injured.
“Due to the continued presence of hostile aircraft, which repeatedly and deliberately targeted ambulances, there were significant difficulties in evacuating the wounded,” the group said in a statement.
There has been no immediate comment from the United States regarding the reported strike.
Earlier, the Iraqi News Agency reported that at least three fighters were wounded in another strike targeting a militia base in the Baiji area of Salah al-Din province.
