Albanian PM: Erdogan makes special contribution to Türkiye's development
Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama has praised the leadership qualities of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
Speaking at the Delphi Economic Forum in Greece, Rama expressed his views on many regional issues, including relations with Türkiye, Anadolu reports.
The Albanian prime minister stressed that President Erdogan was making a special contribution to his country.
"Erdogan's policies have greatly changed the face of Türkiye Of course, there can be different opinions, but before discussing them, I have to say that the EU's behaviour towards Ankara is very controversial," Rama said.
The prime minister recalled that Brussels had promised Türkiye membership of the EU after implementing appropriate reforms, but as a result, Ankara was "left at the door". "However, it is an undeniable fact that Türkiye, whether Erdogan is in charge or not, is important in terms of Europe's security. The European Union must take the Turkish factor seriously," the politician stressed.
Edi Rama also spoke about his personal friendly relations with the Turkish leader.
