All four pilots of the Tu-22M3 bomber, which crashed in Irkutsk region, have been found.
In an update shared via Telegram channel, regional governor Igor Kobzev confirmed that the pilots successfully ejected from the aircraft, which was on a routine flight, Caliber.Az reports citing Russian media.
The bomber fell in an uninhabited area, causing no damage on the ground. The Defence Ministry has reported that the crew diverted the plane away from residential areas, and all four pilots are receiving medical assistance with no life-threatening injuries.
Kobzev reassured the public, urging against panic. He stated that relevant services have been dispatched to the site, which is located near Mikhailovka, Cheremkhovo district, just beyond a viaduct. The preliminary cause of the crash is attributed to a technical malfunction.
