Zelenskyy: Russia plans to increase ballistic missile production

Russia plans to increase production of ballistic missiles, according to updated data from Ukraine’s Defence Intelligence (HUR), Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on August 28.

Zelenskyy said he was citing a report by HUR chief Oleh Ivashchenko.

He called on Ukraine’s partners to completely block supplies of components, equipment and machine tools used by Russia for missile production.

“Without foreign components, the Russians are unable to implement any part of their missile programme,” Zelenskyy said.

He also said Ukrainian intelligence had confirmed the effectiveness of Ukrainian strikes on Russian military enterprises and oil-production facilities.

According to Zelenskyy, intelligence had also confirmed that several Russian oil refineries had halted operations, including one of the largest in Kstovo, Nizhny Novgorod region, which processed 17 million tonnes of oil annually.
