All power units of Zaporizhzhya NPP put in "cold shutdown" state

The reactor block of power unit No. 4 at the Zaporizhzhya Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP) has been put into a "cold shutdown" state, Gazeta.Ru reports citing the plant's press service.

It is noted that the works were performed normally according to the requirements of the legal documents with no violations of the limits and conditions of safe operation.

The background level of radiation on the industrial premises, in the sanitary protection zone and the observation zone has not changed and is within the range of natural values.

The press service also added that all six units of the ZNPP are now in the state of "cold shutdown". This is a safe condition where they are switched off at low pressure and low temperature of cooling water.
