American composer Guy Moon passes away after car crash in LA

American composer Guy Moon has died in a car accident in California at the age of 63.

Moon was involved in a crash on January 8 morning in Los Angeles County and later succumbed to his injuries. His family confirmed his death, Caliber.Az reports per The New York Post.

“We feel singularly blessed to have been able to call him dad and husband. As we stand together at the base of what seems to be an insurmountable grief, we are emboldened to grieve him with honor and courage with the tools that he equipped us with in his beautiful life,” his family wrote on Facebook, quoted by The Hollywood Reporter.  

Moon’s music featured in numerous Nickelodeon projects, including the animated series SpongeBob SquarePants and The Fairly OddParents. He was also nominated four times for an Emmy between 2002 and 2004.

Born on February 7, 1962, in Wisconsin, Moon contributed to approximately 70 musical works over the course of his career, the newspaper noted.
