ANAMA, EU delegation hold conference on combating mine threat PHOTO

Under the organization of the Azerbaijan Mine Action Agency (ANAMA) and the Azerbaijani representation of the European Union, a technical conference was held on the topic “International standards and innovative solutions in the fight against mine threats.”

The main goal of the conference is to provide EU support to the “Center for International Excellence in Combating Mine Threat” project being implemented in the country, ANAMA told Caliber.Az.

At the conference, views were exchanged on a number of aspects in mine clearance, on issues of providing assistance to mine victims, the international experience of EU states and partners, and innovative solutions in this area were touched upon.

The event was attended by the head of the European Union Delegation to Azerbaijan, Ambassador Peter Michalko, Deputy Chairman of the Board of ANAMA Samir Poladov, representatives of the Bosnia and Herzegovina Mine Action Center, the Azerbaijani representative office of the UN Development Program, local and international non-governmental organizations.
