Hakan Fidan emphasized that Israel will not be able to ensure its security through aggression. He also pointed out that it is unacceptable for the international community to ignore the “oppression and violence that the Palestinians are subjected to”.
He noted that Türkiye is taking active steps for an early and complete ceasefire in order to ensure the uninterrupted delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza and achieve long-term peace in the region.
The parties also discussed regional issues and the state of bilateral relations.
The Turkish foreign minister noted that the conflict between both Russia and Ukraine should “end on the basis of international law”. He added that Türkiye is ready to host Russian-Ukrainian negotiations if it is the will of the parties.
According to him, the continuation of the war will have negative consequences both at the regional and global levels. He assured that Türkiye will continue to make all necessary efforts to have peace established.
A joint press conference of the foreign ministers was scheduled for Tuesday morning, but it was cancelled.
