Ankara to host premiere of film commemorating Karabakh war heroes
The Turkish-dubbed version of the film “Old Suitcases”, which honors the heroes of the First and Second Karabakh wars, will premiere at the CSO Ada Ankara on November 6.
The screening is part of the commemorations marking the fourth anniversary of Azerbaijan’s Victory Day, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
The event is organized with the support of Türkiye’s Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Ankara’s Gazi University, the Altındağ Municipality, and various public organizations, along with agencies from Azerbaijan.
The film’s script is based on real events, capturing the memories of Azerbaijani heroes who fought against Armenian forces during the conflicts. Directed by Saida Hagverdiyeva, with a screenplay by Sevda Sultanova and cinematography by Shahmar Safaroghlu, the film seeks to portray the tragic events of the wars, including the Khojaly massacre.
“Old Suitcases” was completed in 2021, and the production was supported by Azerbaijan’s DOST Agency under the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection.
In addition to the film screening, an exhibition titled “Woman, Peace, Victory” will open ahead of the premiere.
