Another wildfire erupts in Azerbaijan’s Aghdam district
A new wildfire has erupted in the Agdam district, with open land burning near the villages of Abdal and Gyulabli.
Firefighters have been dispatched to the area, and efforts to contain and extinguish the blaze are underway, Caliber.Az reports per local media.
This incident follows a series of wildfires that have affected multiple liberated regions of Azerbaijan in recent days.
Fires were previously reported in several villages across the Fuzuli and Khojavend districts, including Yukhari Yaghlivend, Jamilli, Divanallar, and the town of Hadrut. The situation in Hadrut remains especially critical as flames have spread into nearby forested areas, raising concerns over potential environmental damage.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) has mobilised firefighting units and emergency teams from several districts, including Jabrayil, Beylagan, and Khojavend, to tackle the widespread blazes. Helicopters from the MES Aviation Unit and specialised firefighting personnel have been deployed to assist in containment efforts, particularly in challenging mountainous terrains.
