AP: Israel concerned over lack of clear US strategy on Iran

Israeli authorities are concerned that US leadership lacks a clear strategy for resolving the conflict with Iran or resuming large-scale military operations.

Citing a person familiar with the Israeli government’s internal deliberations, the Associated Press (AP) reported that Israeli officials fear US President Donald Trump is seeking to “keep this war on a low flame” until the November 3, 2026, midterm elections, without a clear path toward achieving concrete results.

Israel is also concerned that the United States may seek to limit military operations against Iran due to rising oil prices and dwindling stocks of interceptor missiles available to the US military.

Nevertheless, during his meeting with Trump on July 28, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu assured the American leader that Israel would follow Washington’s foreign policy approach on Iran and support US decisions, according to AP sources.
