Arab League considers forming pan-Arab military force

The Arab League is exploring the possibility of forming a pan-Arab military contingent, as reported by RT Arabic, citing the organisation’s Deputy Secretary-General Hossam Zaki.

The initiative is reportedly being discussed against the backdrop of Iranian strikes on Persian Gulf countries.

“This idea was revisited in Egypt, as in 2015 President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi first proposed creating pan-Arab forces. We are examining the matter and are ready to present it again at the next Arab League meeting,” Zaki said.

He added that every Arab country has the legitimate right to respond to aggression as it sees fit, and the Arab League fully supports this right.
