Arestovych: we are forced to deplete our air defence missile supplies against drone attacks

The adviser to the Ukrainian President’s Office, Oleksiy Arestovych, believes that Russia wants to force the Ukrainian army to use up all of their air defence missile supplies by attacking with drones.

Arestovych regularly appears as a guest on the popular “Feigyn Live” political YouTube channel, hosted by former Russian politician and outspoken opposer of President Putin, Mark Feigyn. During his latest interview on October 16, the Ukrainian adviser admitted that “not everything goes so easy” in regard to the recapturing of areas, especially in the Kherson and Svatovo regions.

“You can say that they [the Russians] have identified the key to our air defence systems, which entails forcing us to use up all of our missile supplies in the fight against their drone attacks”, he said.

Since October 10, Russia has launched multiple mass attacks throughout all of Ukraine, which, as the Kommersant reports, the Kremlin refers to as the response to the “sabotaging act committed on the Crimean bridge” as well as to “other terrorist attacks” that it blames on the Ukrainian government.

On October 17 devastating air attacks were carried out in the Kyiv, Sumy and Dnepropetrov regions. The Prime Minister of Ukraine, Denys Shmygal, stated that these attacks have paralyzed hundreds of residential areas.

The Russian Ministry of Defence continues to assure, that they are only targeting military and infrastructure objects and that only “high-precision long-range navy and air systems” are being used, which, according to the Ministry, was the case on October 17 as well.
