This strategic move was highlighted during a high-level meeting in Riga between Croatian Foreign Minister Gordan Grlić Radman and Latvian Foreign Minister Baiba Braže. The discussions focused on expanding bilateral cooperation across multiple sectors, including the economy, energy, and defence, reflecting a broader agenda to strengthen regional partnerships amidst ongoing geopolitical tensions.
“The ministers welcomed excellent bilateral relations and discussed opportunities to enhance economic, energy and defence cooperation.
In that context, Minister Grlić Radman stated that Croatia intends to join the drone initiative led by Latvia and the United Kingdom.
They also exchanged views on Croatia’s #OECD accession. Special attention was given to regional initiatives, with Croatia set to chair both the Three Seas Initiative and the #MED9 next year, as well as to key EU issues, including enlargement.” the post by the ministry says.
Beyond the drone coalition, the ministers also deliberated on Croatia’s aspirations to join the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), emphasizing the importance of economic integration and development as part of the country’s long-term strategic objectives.
