Argentine lawmaker offers drug test after alleged cocaine use in parliament VIDEO

Argentine lawmaker Juan Manuel Rossi has offered to undergo a toxicology test to prove he did not use cocaine during a parliamentary session after a video of him triggered allegations on social media, Diario Huarpe reports

The controversy involving the legislator from Entre Ríos province emerged after footage showed him holding an unidentified object before bringing his hand to his nose and leaning back in his chair with his head tilted backwards.

The video quickly circulated on social media, where many users speculated that Rossi had been taking an illicit substance during the session.

Rossi categorically rejected the allegations, insisting that the object in his hand was a pen rather than drugs. 

“A smear campaign has been launched against me on social media, with the aim of damaging my reputation by labelling me a ‘drug addict,’” the lawmaker wrote on X.

Rossi maintained that the spread of the allegations was part of a coordinated campaign intended to damage his political image.
