Armenia pitches TRIPP project to Eastern Macedonia and Thrace governor
Armenian Ambassador to Greece Tigran Mkrtchyan held a meeting with Christodoulos Topsidis, Governor of the Eastern Macedonia and Thrace Region, during which he presented Armenia’s “Crossroads of Peace” initiative and the TRIPP project to promote regional connectivity.
The discussions focused on strengthening interregional cooperation, expanding economic ties, and enhancing regional connectivity, Caliber.Az reports via Armenian media.
Ambassador Mkrtchyan stressed the importance of deepening cooperation between Armenian and Greek regions, highlighting the partnership potential between Armenia’s Shirak Province and Greece’s Eastern Macedonia and Thrace region.
The sides exchanged views on the export of Armenian products to European markets and the potential role of Greek infrastructure in supporting these efforts.
For his part, Governor Topsidis expressed readiness to expand cooperation with Armenia’s regions and pointed to opportunities for joint participation in EU-funded interregional programs. He also underscored the strategic significance of the region, including the role of the Port of Alexandroupolis and the local airport in regional transport and logistics.
Both sides highlighted the longstanding presence and contribution of the Armenian community to the region’s development and agreed to continue exploring avenues for closer cooperation.
