Armenia prepares for training of reservists
Armenia's Defence Ministry has held a meeting to discuss training camps and the use of vehicles during drills for reservists.
The meeting was attended by officials from the Armenian defence, territorial administration and infrastructures, health ministries and the General Staff of the Armenian Armed Forces, Defence Minister Suren Papikyan wrote on his social networking platform, according to Caliber.Az
"The participants of the meeting discussed the issues of preparation for training camps of reservists, officers and sergeants of the Armenian Armed Forces. During the event, reports and recommendations on problems were heard, as well as ways to solve them were proposed. The minister gave relevant instructions to the heads of departments who coordinate the process," the message reads.
The next reservist training will be held in Armenia from March 1 to May 12. It is anticipated that approximately 3,300 reservists in combined arms and rocket-artillery specialities will be recruited (over 230 of them are officers). Reservists will be required to attend classes for no more than 25 days. A certain number of vehicles will be sourced from military transport organisations.
