Armenian government rules out snap elections
Member of Armenia’s ruling “Civil contract” party, Vigen Khachatryan has denounced the reports about government discussions on the possibility of holding early parliamentary elections.
“I don't see any reason for this,” he said, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Armenian media.
Khachatryan is convinced that the resolution of the internal situation in Armenia depends on the prudence of the protest organizers:
"It depends on their prudence, because they have chosen a useless occupation. An adequate answer will be given to their behaviour," he said.
Vice Speaker of the Armenian Parliament, representative of the Supreme Council of the ARF Dashnaksutyun party, Ishkhan Saghatelyan recently said a real political crisis has arisen in the country. However, Khachatryan, has rebuked his remarks.
"There can be no internal political crisis, the crisis is within the opposition, they must overcome their internal crisis. This is another proof that Saghatelyan does not know the real situation in the country,” he concluded.
