Armenian law enforcers search homes of Tavush for the Homeland supporters
In the early morning of June 25, Armenian law enforcement officers launched a series of searches targeting the homes of supporters of the "Tavush for the Homeland" revanchist movement, also referred to as the "Sacred Struggle."
The operations extended to the apartment of the movement’s leader, revanchist Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan, a figure known for his vocal opposition to the Armenian government’s border delimitation policies with Azerbaijan, Caliber.Az reports, citing Armenian media.
The "Tavush for the Homeland" movement has been a focal point of contention in Armenia, primarily driven by its resistance to the government’s decision to return four border villages in the Tavush region to Azerbaijan as part of the Armenia-Azerbaijan border demarcation process. Led by Archbishop Galstanyan, the movement has organised protests and acts of civil disobedience across Yerevan and other regions since April 2024, demanding a halt to what they describe as unilateral territorial concessions.
