Assistance to Ukraine in 2023 reaches $20 billion EU remains to be largest donor

Ukraine in 2023 received assistance from partners for $19.8 billion.

According to Gazeta.Ru, Roksolana Pidlas, chairman of the budget committee of Ukraine's Verkhovna Rada (parliament), announced this on her social media page.

She wrote that the largest donor remains the EU, which this year has already allocated $8.1 billion in soft loans under the macro-financial assistance mechanism.

Also, a lot of help came from the US and Canada, she added.

In the meantime, Finnish Defense Minister Antti Kaikkonen said that Helsinki is preparing the 17th package of military assistance to Ukraine, taking into account its wishes.

According to the Helsingin Sanomat newspaper, he announced this after the NATO meeting in Brussels.

“Just at the meeting, we received fresh information about what needs Ukraine has, and these wishes will be taken into account,” he said.
