ASTRA: Fire reported at oil depot in Crimea’s Feodosia PHOTO
A fire has been reported at an oil depot operated by JSC “Morskoy Neftyanoy Terminal” in the city of Feodosia, according to footage and images analysed by the monitoring outlet ASTRA.
The incident reportedly occurred overnight on April 8, with videos shared by eyewitnesses showing a visible glow in the sky above the area where the facility is located. ASTRA said its review of the materials indicates the fire originated at the oil depot.
Experts cited by the outlet estimate that one of the images was taken from a distance of around 4.7 kilometres from the site, capturing a residential building on Chelnokova Street. The footage appears to corroborate claims of a blaze at or near the facility.
Local authorities in Crimea have not officially confirmed the incident at the time of reporting.
Previously, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine described the Morskoy Neftyanoy Terminal as a key logistics hub used for maritime deliveries of fuel and lubricants to the peninsula and to territories in southern Ukraine under Russian control.
