Ukrainian police and the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) have detained a 21-year-old local man suspected of carrying out a terror attack in Bucha, ASTRA reports.
According to the National Police of Ukraine, the suspect claimed he was manipulated by a stranger he met through a computer game. “The acquaintance began blackmailing him, asserting that he knew the location of his mother and was allegedly monitoring her with a drone. To ensure her safety, the suspect was instructed to plant explosives,” the statement said.
The attack involved two explosions near a multi-story residential building. The first blast occurred before police arrived; a second explosion detonated on-site, injuring two officers. Windows and the building’s facade were damaged by the blasts.
Police have classified the incident as a terrorist attack. Following standard procedures for handling terror threats, the area was cordoned off to ensure public safety and facilitate the ongoing investigation.
